Make sure your gadgets are child-proof

All children love to play with gadgets, whether it’s your latest Android tablet, iPhone, or laptop. It is important to let your child experience the benefits of these devices, but you also need to ensure that your child uses them appropriately and does not damage them.

Sign out of websites

If you’ve used an online store or other site that used your debit or credit card details, you need to make sure that you sign out properly. This will stop children from making unwanted purchases and running up large bills. On sites that you use regularly, it is wise not to check the box that keeps you signed in; this will also safeguard you from your child gaining access to your bank details.

Use passwords

It might seem unnecessary to have a password on your phone or tablet, but initiating one will stop your children from using the devices when you don’t want them to. When you have a password or PIN on your device, you should always remember to lock it when you put it away. It’s also a good idea to have the lock on a timer so that the device will automatically lock itself after a certain amount of time has passed.

Set parental controls

Any of your devices that are connected to the internet should have parental controls set up on them. This prevents your children from accessing certain sites or getting into areas that you don’t want them to see, such as business emails.
